I spent a few hours, trying to update my 2015 build of ACDSee from 2015 and got the message that it had to be updated to 2018 (or 2019?). It required a partial un-install of my existing build, then a complete re-install – and as I was doing this, it was asking me to repair my system. As soon as I finished installing 2018, it crashed, but was even happier as it had an option to run a scan, and it only took 5 minutes to run it. It did find “a few” things, and I had to confirm that the fixes would be applied.

I have had ACDSEE on my Mac for over 20 years and have upgraded every new version. The latest is 2019. ACDSEE doesn’t change much. It continues to be good at photo management. The latest is so good that I think it has become my default image viewer. Photo management is good, but with Lightroom, I can get more control. I don’t see any major drawback to the latest ACDSEE version.
