Hey, I’m having the same problem with this new version of FastStone and its crashing when it starts up: “Program cannot start because FastStoneCapture.exe is missing or corrupt.” Anyone else experiencing this? I need it badly for a class project tomorrow… Can’t figure out what to do. At all.

I’ve had FastStone Capture working great for a while with no problems at all. As soon as I installed the latest version it started crashing on opening. Now, every single time I open it, it crashes and shows the FastStone message box. I’m on Windows 7, 64-bit. Can you help?

Should have gotten some response here, anyway..
Installed it yesterday, running Windows 7 (64) and it works fine. Maybe you’re not running FastStone Capture in a 64-bit mode. In Linux or OSX, it’s not to hard to create a x64 setup, but I didn’t want to mess around with Windows for a simple program.

I’ve been using FastStone since version 2.0, and I’ve been very pleased with it. For a software of this type, the support that I have received has been exceptional. It includes:

Comprehensive tutorial videos that demonstrate the capabilities of the program.
Two separate threads of discussion in a user forum (regarding demonstration videos and technical support queries)

Technical support for as many as I have requests

I have no complaints about FastStone. I would recommend it to anyone, except it does not recognize Unicode. There is no way to change the encoding in the options, so I am forced to use the Windows version (if I get it to run), or use a different program (MouseRuler, RawCapture). However, the price is high for the simple task of capturing the full screen and freezing the mouse. MouseRuler allows me to capture the screen, freeze the mouse and have the window appear in its own window. It does not have the one other thing that I want, but it has other good features, plus I don’t have to pay.
